Telehealth Services

Telehealth involves the delivery of healthcare services using electronic communications and technology when you and your healthcare provider are in different locations.

Depending on your care, telehealth may include video visits, electronic health questionnaires, review of your medical history and laboratory results, secure messaging, treatment recommendations, prescriptions, and follow-up care.

Medical services are provided by licensed healthcare professionals. Vincera Health is not a medical provider, prescriber, or pharmacy. Your healthcare provider is responsible for evaluating your medical information, determining whether telehealth is appropriate for you, and making all diagnosis, treatment, and prescribing decisions.

Benefits and Limitations of Telehealth

Telehealth can make healthcare more convenient and accessible by allowing you to communicate with a healthcare provider remotely.

However, telehealth has limitations and risks. Your provider may not have access to all of the information that could be obtained during an in-person examination. Technical problems or interruptions may affect a consultation, and electronic communications may carry privacy and security risks despite reasonable safeguards.

Your provider may determine that an in-person examination, additional laboratory or diagnostic testing, specialist consultation, or other medical care is necessary before treatment can be provided or continued.

Telehealth is not appropriate for every medical condition or situation.

Prescriptions and Treatment

Participating in a telehealth consultation does not guarantee that you will receive a prescription or any particular treatment.

All diagnosis, treatment, and prescribing decisions are made by the licensed healthcare provider responsible for your care using their independent professional judgment.

When medication is prescribed, prescriptions are fulfilled by appropriately licensed pharmacies. Vincera Health does not prescribe or dispense medications.

Certain medications or treatments may require additional evaluation, testing, or an in-person examination under applicable law or based on your provider's clinical judgment.

Your Responsibilities

You agree to provide complete and accurate information about your health, including your medical history, current medications, allergies, symptoms, laboratory results, and other information requested by your healthcare provider.

You should notify your provider of changes in your health, adverse reactions or side effects, or changes to information you previously provided.

You are responsible for following the treatment instructions provided by your healthcare provider and seeking additional medical attention when recommended.

Emergencies

Vincera Health's telehealth services are not intended for medical emergencies.

If you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. Do not rely on website forms, email, text messages, secure messaging, or other electronic communications for emergency medical care.

Privacy and Electronic Communications

Telehealth requires the electronic transmission and storage of personal and health information. Reasonable safeguards are used to protect this information; however, no electronic communication system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Your information may be used and disclosed as permitted or required by applicable law, including for purposes related to treatment, payment, healthcare operations, laboratory services, pharmacy fulfillment, and coordination of your care.

Additional information about how Vincera Health collects, uses, and protects information is available in our Privacy Policy.

Consent to Telehealth

Before receiving clinical services through Vincera Health's telehealth platform, you may be asked to provide electronic consent as part of the patient intake process.

By consenting to receive care through telehealth, you acknowledge that you understand the nature of telehealth and its potential benefits, risks, and limitations; that telehealth may not completely replace an in-person medical evaluation; and that your provider may recommend additional testing or in-person care when appropriate.

You also understand that receiving a telehealth consultation does not guarantee a prescription or any particular treatment.

You may ask questions about telehealth or your treatment at any time and may decline telehealth services.
